Sandy Bay opens with upheaval: Aimee, barely nineteen, has spent her whole life in Sydney until her father’s big career step pulls the family out of the city and into a quiet coastal community. The town moves to its own rhythm, and Aimee has to find her footing in a place where everyone knows everyone and nothing happens on her old schedule. While she’s still unpacking, the boyfriend she left behind is waiting on the other end of the phone. The distance forces a question she can’t put off forever — does she hold on to the relationship she had in Sydney, or treat the move as a clean break and see who she becomes without him? Both paths are open, and neither is presented as the obvious right answer. You take Aimee’s side through that crossroads. Every conversation, every small decision about how she spends her days in Sandy Bay nudges her toward commitment or toward independence, and the story grows out of the choices you make rather than a single fixed route. What ties it together is Aimee’s search for a version of home that fits her, in a town she never expected to live in, at an age when everything feels like it might be permanent. Mature themes run throughout, and the emotional weight lands on loyalty, temptation and growing up on your own terms.
