Claire’s Quest drops players into a dark fantasy realm with Renaissance trappings, and it does so without asking them to grind through a single battle. This adult RPG from Dystopian Project centers on a heroine whose path is shaped by the person at the keyboard — by choices and interactions rather than by leveling curves or enemy encounters. The game runs on RPGMaker MV and presents itself in 2D, with CG artwork punctuating the key moments. Remove the usual combat loop and what’s left is a role-playing experience built around wandering, conversing, and involving yourself in the world’s mature situations. It’s a structure aimed squarely at players who come for the story rather than the fight. Non-linear progression is the backbone here.
