Arielle’s Descent: Arcane Academy

About this game

Arielle Valemont arrives at the Aurelius Academy of Magic with a tarnished name and a single goal: pull her ruined house back into respectable society. Her acceptance into the prestigious institution is not the result of merit alone — Arch Mage Malrick Corvane, a longtime associate of her family, arranged her placement and now holds the purse strings. In this adult corruption RPG from Morrak Games, education is only the surface layer of a much more personal arrangement. Malrick plays the part of guardian and advisor, greeting Arielle as a trusted friend of her bloodline while quietly steering her toward obligations that have nothing to do with coursework. He also encourages her to spend time with his son, Sevrin, whose attention toward her began well before she ever set foot on campus. Weekly private audiences with the Arch Mage sit alongside her lectures, and each favor accepted binds her a little tighter to a web of debt, patronage, and influence. The day-to-day loop, built in RPG Maker MZ for version 0.2, revolves around a schedule of classes, employment, and evenings the player shapes directly. Arielle cycles through five schools of magic in rotation, then heads into the town of Runehaven to chase down work. Her corruption is tracked openly rather than hidden, and it rewrites what she can wear, which jobs will take her, what new paths open, and the way NPCs address her. The experience mixes 2D CG, AI-generated CG, and animated scenes with a story about concealed agendas and eroding limits, so the heroine’s slide is visible in both mechanics and presentation. Managing her studies against her survival — and choosing how far she is willing to fall — is the core decision the game asks of the player.
